YFAW is an annual conference for PhD students and other early-stage researchers in Functional Analysis. YFAW offers participants an opportunity both to present their own work in front of a sympathetic audience and to get to know less familiar areas of current research. We encourage all participants to give a talk, but those who prefer not to give a talk are still welcome to attend. We specially encourage female PhD students to present their research in the form of a contributed talk or a poster.
The meeting will consist of short talks from participants and longer talks from our invited speakers.
The invited speakers are:
Prof. Robert Archbold (Aberdeen University, Scotland)
Prof. Eva Gallardo-Gutierrez (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain)
Dr David Kimsey (Newcastle University, England)
Prof. Alexander Pushnitski (King’s College London, England).
Further information, including titles and abstracts, will appear on website
We are grateful to be supported by the London Mathematical Society through a scheme 8 grant, which will enable us to subsidise accommodation and subsistence costs for participants. We also welcome international participants, and encourage those interested to contact us at the email address below to discuss possible funding availability.
We are committed to providing help with the organization of any special arrangements regarding those participants with children, such as arranging accommodation for them and their dependants within close proximity to the university.
Registration will open on the 20th January 2018.
